Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center
The 24 km drive from the capital to Rumtek Monastery is, in itself, worth the effort. Changing vistas of mountains unfold at every bend and there are delightful vignettes of the hamlets and fields of the people of rural Sikkim. The original monastery was built by one of the rulers of Sikkim.


Tsomgo Lake or Changu Lake
It literally means the “source of the Lake” in the Bhutia language. Just about 40km away from Gangtok, the capital of State. This serene lake is situated at an altitude of 3,780 mtrs. The lake is about 1 km long, oval in shape, 15mtrs deep and is considered sacred by the local people.


Nathula Pass
Nathula Pass was a major corridor of passage between India and Tibet before it was closed in 1962. Located around 56 kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 14450 ft, the road to Nathula passes through the Tsomgo lake. It is one of the highest motorable roads in the world and is richly surrounded by alpine flora.


Enchey Monastery
Enchey Monastery is built on the site blessed by Lama Drupto Karpo, a tantric master known for his power of flying.. Every year, around January, ‘CHAM’ or religious masked dance is performed with great fanfare for two days.


Himalayan Zoological Park
Just 8 km away from Gangtok is a verdant expanse of 205 hectares encapsulating the Himalayan Zoological Park . This is the natural habitat of the endangered red panda, barking deer, spotted deer and bear.


Ganesh Tok
It is situated on a ridge at a distance of 7 kms from Gangtok. From this Spot one can get birds eye view of sprawling Gangtok town, while across the hills Mt. Khang-chen-Dzonga and Mt. Siniolchu loom over the horizon. A cafeteria serves hot tea, coffee and snacks.


Hanuman Tok
About nine kilometres uphill from Gangtok.The temple is dedicated to Hanuman.Temple is maintained by the Indian army. According to the local legends, when Hanuman was flying with the “Sanjeevani”( mythological life saving herb) mountain to save Rama's brother Lakshmana he rested in the spot where his temple now lies for some time.


Gurudongmar Lake
Situated at a height of 17,800 feet, it is considered one the most sacred lakes by the Buddhists and Hindus alike. The beautiful and awe inspiring lake (190 kms from Gangtok) remains milky in colour throughout the year. Yumthang
It is situated at an altitude of about 11,800 ft. And is 149 Kms. from Gangtok. It is covered with rhododendron shrubs and trees of various species. The valley is well known for its hot springs, which is slightly saline in taste, it is colorless, emits bubbles of sulphurated hydrogen gas and the temperature of 106 degree seems to touch the heaven.


Lachung
The word Lachung means "small pass". The town is approximately 125 km from the capital Gangtok.It falls under the North Sikkim and is not very far from the China border. It is at an altitude of about 3,000 metres above sea level and is located at the confluence of River Lachen and River Lachung, which are the tributaries of the Teesta River.


Lachen
Lachen meaning the ‘big pass’ is situated at an altitude of 2750 mtrs. and about 6 hrs. drive from Gangtok. The Lachen Monastery Located on top of the village commands a panoramic view of the surrounding hills and country side. Resorts, hotels and lodges are available for accommodation.


Namchi
Namchi, meaning 'Sky High', nestled among the hills at an elevation of 5,500 ft commands panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains and vast stretches of valley Atop Samdruptse hilltop near Namchi, recently erected is the worlds tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava, the patron saint of both Hindus and the Buddhist .


Solophok Chardham
Around 10 kms from Gyalshing, Pelling is today emerging as the second biggest tourist destination in the state after Gangtok. Pelling is fast emarging as most favorite tourist destination in west Sikkim. Situated at an altitude of 6,800 ft., it offers a good view of the entire mountain ranges.the breathtaking view it offers of the Khangchendzonga.


Samdruptse
Samdruptse literally means 'wish fulfilling hill' in the Bhutia language. Situated near Namchi in South Sikkim, it is at a distance of 75 kms from Gangtok. A unique, awe inspiring and gigangtic 135 feet high statue of Guru Padamasambhava is installed atop Sampruptse. It is the highest statue of Guru Padamasambhava in the world.


Temi Tea Garden
It is the only tea garden in Sikkim, and considered one of the best in India and in the world. Top quality tea is produced, which is in demand in the international market. The garden is laid over a gradually sloping hill. The tea produced in this garden is also partly marketed under the trade name “Temi Tea”.
